Objetivos del proyecto
Using the right antibiotic for the right patient at the right time is critical to effectively treat all infection types, prevent the development of antimicrobial resistance, and optimize patients’ outcomes. Real-World Evidence (RWE) can give vital insight into treatment impact in diverse clinical settings in real life context, where patients can have concomitant infections, comorbidities, or complex presentations. This project presents a collaboration between the Universidad El Bosque in Bogota, Colombia, the Asociación Panamericana de Infectología (API) and AXDEV Group, an international organization specialized in medical education and performance improvement in healthcare to develop and deliver an educational program consisting of a series of 3 x 90 minute online interactive webinars, combining didactics, with case-based activities, and discussion with experts and a pre-post and follow-up assessment that will contribute to a better understanding of Real-world data (RWD) and their incredible value to support evidence-based clinical decision-making in the field of infectious diseases and microbial resistance, principal components of any AMS program , in alignment with the principles of Antimicrobial Stewardship. It is the collaborator’s intent to also report on the outcomes from this initiative, which will be bridging important knowledge gaps in the region, through publication in a peer-reviewed journal and a presentation at a key conference (API bi-annual meeting).
